The Layout 12 Square is a robust, specialised tool for timber framing; it acts as an oversized square with timber-specific features to help framers quickly and accurately mark out popular timber framing joinery such as mortises and tenons.

The Layout 12 square is CNC-milled from the highest-quality T6 6082 4mm thick aluminum plate for durability and absolute precision. We CNC machine each tool to tight tolerances, with right-angle precision of +/- 0.008° along the entire length. Combined with an aluminium heel and handy bubble vial. It’s versatile and built to withstand the grind of any jobsite. With bright white, laser-etched markings. It delivers unmatched accuracy for measuring angles, making cuts, and laying out.

PRECISION MARKINGS

The one-piece anodised aluminium heel is also CNC machined and secured with countersunk, stainless steel machine head bolts. This houses a 30mm spirit level, visible from all four sides, and with a sensitivity of 0.5° per 2mm of bubble movement, makes it perfect for marking and finding level.
